There are seven resorts along the Ferrarese Adriatic coast. Lido di Spina, the most southerly, is the smartest; low houses and wide tree-lined boulevards bring back memories of the holiday resorts of the past. The shade of the cluster pines spreads over the roads, named after great painters in honour of the maestro Remo Brindisi, who used to spend his holidays here. Crossing the Canale Logonovo, you arrive in the centre of Lido degli Estensi: a broad boulevard, a marina, boutiques, high-class shops and fashionable meeting places that create a bright and "sociable" image. Continuing north, the village with the oldest origins is Porto Garibaldi; home to a commercial port. It is a picturesque seaside village with colourful boats moored a few yards from the centre and fishermen busy in their daily work. Lido di Pomposa and Lido degli Scacchi are more family-orientated, just right for a holiday with the safety of a large beach with facilities that meet all the needs of children and parents. A little way away is Lido delle Nazioni, the perfect combination of nature, relaxation and sport, thanks to its lake (perfect for water sports) and its large green open spaces. At the extreme north is Lido di Volano, dominated by the presence of a majestic pinewood behind the beach, ideal for entusiasts of extreme sports: kite surfing, windsurfing, paraflying and other really special activities.
